Abstract Workshop with Karen Langley

Saturday July 29, 10 am - 4 pm

Learn to apply textures, color, and design

Bring two to three large canvas 16x20 or larger. I like to use 24x30 gallery wrap size.
1-2 inch brushes to apply a lot of paint to the canvas fast.
A container for water
Bring any acrylic paint you may have.
You can also bring oil if you want. The acrylic will dry faster for this workshop so it will be easier to apply color with out making mud. I will have some acrylic paint on hand for use.
Bring anything to make texture i.e...
Saran Wrap, trowels, anything bumpy or with uneven edges for scraping.
Apron or old shirt
Palette or paper plates

Basket Weaving Workshops with Bonnie Geiger

August 12, 2017, 9am - 5pm

A bean pot is a great basket to learn or hone your shaping skills. The basket gets its name from the old crock pots used for cooking beans. The bottom of the basket is twined in a “dome shape”. A continuous weave will complete the basket. The basket is 9” tall, 9” across the top and 35” around at the fullest point. Your basket shape and size may vary a little. Color choices available are blue or rust.

Workshop fee: $60
Registration and payment is required by August 4, 2017.

Class size is limited to 10 students.

Preferred method of payment is cash or check made payable to The Village Artist. Mail to The Village Artist, 631-8 Prominade Place, Columbia, SC 29229. Please email me that you plan to attend and your color choice. And if you have questions -- bonnie.geiger@gmail.com
