I am back at my easel and happy to rejoin Village Artists. Most of my representational paintings are in oil; I enjoy moving wet paint around, softening edges and especially forming positive areas by using negative spaces. I also like partially covered textures and colors by transparent layers. I grew up in Columbia, left to see the world and now back with my family.
My art instruction was at USC, and my main influences were by the late Edmund Yaghjian in painting, and Boyd Saunders, a well known printmaker. I have been lucky enough to visit some great art museums, and therefore be inspired by some of the best painters throughout history as well as wonderful contemporary artists. Now, if only I could remember all those great lessons in visual arts!
